   What's happening in East Town and where do you go to find it? Just check the items listed below and join us for our neighborhood meetings, street events and picnics, holiday gatherings, or any of the other exciting things happening here. And since we're directly adjacent to Rock Hill's Downtown - we're a gateway, in case you didn't know - you can walk just a few blocks and enjoy one of the many shops and restaurants the Downtown area has to offer. Join us for one of the many festivals and music events that make East Town and Downtown Rock Hill a destination for everyone!

NEXT ETNA MEETING: Tuesday, August 5, 2008 - 6:30 p.m. at the home of Dan and Irene Fling- 127 South Confederate Ave.

  •   August 5 - National Night Out and Monthly Meeting - Join us at the home of Dan and Irene Fling at 127 South Confederate Ave. for National Night Out. We'll be visited by various City of Rock Hill officials and staff from Neighborhood Empowerment, Police, Fire, and others. This will be an "eatin' meetin' " so bring your favorite dish to share with your neighbors. The Rock Hill Police Department wants to remind everyone to leave your porch lights on for National Night Out to let the bad guys know that they're not welcome in East Town!
  •  July 8 - Monthly Meeting - Join us at the home of Joe and Betty Sherrill at 538 East Main St. This will be another "eatin' meetin' " so bring your favorite dish to share with your neighbors. We will welcome several new neighbors to East Town and details of the upcoming National Night Out event will be finalized...but basically we'll just enjoy the evening with friends and neighbors!
  •   February 12 - Monthly Meeting - Join us at Park Baptist Church Family Center located at 717 East Main St. There will be no meal and the meeting will start at 7:00 p.m.
  •   November 13 - Monthly Meeting and Covered Dish Supper - Meeting in the home of John Misskelley located at 131 North Confederate Ave. We will have a hot dog supper with baked beans and chips. The neighborhood will supply the tea, ice, and paper products. Please bring a dessert if you wish. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
      During the meeting we will finalize plans for the first Historic East Town Neighborhoods Tour of Homes. This event is being done in conjunction with ChristmasVille and will be sponsored in part by Gala Affairs and Old Town Bistro.   • October 9 - Monthly Meeting and Covered Dish Supper - Meeting in the home of Doug & Loraine Johnson located at 125 Reid Street. We will have a hot dog supper with baked beans and chips. The neighborhood will supply the tea, ice, and paper products. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
      During the meeting we will finalize plans for the first Historic East Town Neighborhoods Tour of Homes.   • September 11 - Monthly Meeting and Covered Dish Supper - Meeting in the home of Jim & Paula Connell at 355 East Main Street. Park on Reid Street and enter the back yard where privacy fence is. During the meeting a city representative will update us on the progress of the former Red Coach Inn property. This will be a covered dish supper. The neighborhood will provide award-winning fried chicken from Kinch's Restaurant, tea, ice and paper products. Bring a covered dish to feed you and your family plus one other.
  •   August 7 - National Night Out in East Town - Don't miss this year's National Night Out event in East Town! This year's event will be a street party and covered dish supper on Reid Street. East Town Neighborhood Association will provide the main course - award-winning fried chicken from Kinch's Restaurant! Participants are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. You may also want to bring a few folding chairs along as well. During the evening we'll be visited by City of Rock Hill government officials, staff, Police and Fire Departments, and more. Don't miss this this opportunity to meet and fellowship with your neighbors! Please remember to leave your porch lights on this evening as a show of support for National Night Out.
      The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and will run until about 9:00 p.m. To facilitate the event, Reid Street will be temporarily blocked off from the entrance on White Street up to the first driveway on Reid from White. Barricades will be in place from 5:00 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m. to allow for setup and cleanup. Residents will still be able to reach their homes from the Main Street entrance but through traffic will not be allowed until after 9:30 p.m. Residents of Reid Street will be receiving a written notice of street closure before the event as a reminder.
  •   July 28 - Neighborhood Yard Sale on Reid Street - Yard sale is open to any East Town resident and will begin at 8:00 a.m. If you do not live on Reid St. and wish to set up a table with sale items, please contact a Reid Street resident to arrange for a space in their yard or call 327-0436 for more information.
